Estimator

AGTEK/AutoCAD Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced AGTEK/AutoCAD Technician to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Creating 3D digital terrain earthwork models to support design, estimating, and preconstruction planning to deliver a competitive bid
• Producing AGTEK Earthwork material volume Take-Offs for the following:
o Cut/Fill Analysis
o Curb Lengths, Sidewalk Sq. Ft, and Wall Lengths
o Demolition and/or Stripping
o Export/Import Analysis
o Sectional Sq. Ft
• Supporting the estimation department and different facets of operations on an as needed basis
• Building complete 3D models to directly coordinate with field equipment
• Working with project developmental teams to produce and obtain product approval plans, CAD files/control point data, and revise/update digital terrain models
• Providing a positive and mutually beneficial Pihl Excavation experience with every interaction
• Delivering high quality service by following organizational standards
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications
• Fundamental knowledge of construction materials, engineering drawings/models, geotechnical reports, material documentation flow, process methodology, strategic site layouts, and the submittal process
• Minimum 2 years working experience with AGTEK or AutoCAD in heavy construction
• A working background in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and/or HCSS is beneficial
• Familiarity with cost control measures, estimating functions, and material pricing
• Experience with civil, mass excavation, mass grading, utilities, paving, and demolition
• High function analytical prowess
• A person that is the epitome of a self-starter that can work in a fast-paced environment at times whilst delivering high-yield results and ensure firm deadlines are met
• Desire to work 40+ hour weeks and weekends when deemed necessary
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within the company and outside entities
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Foreman

Foreman

We are currently seeking an experienced Excavation and Utilities Foreman to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Orchestrating detail specific day to day jobsite operational plans for equipment, labor, supplies, etc.
• Optimization of all available resources
• Ensuring expectations and timelines are met
• Consistently rendering the pinnacle of high quality of workmanship
• Delivering efficient and streamlined production costs
• Providing training opportunities for laborers and operators
• Facilitating a clean and safe work environment
• Maintaining clean and safe equipment

Qualifications
• 3-Year minimum experience as a working Foreman managing activity on jobs, directing labor, and running heavy equipment
• Ability to provide boots on the ground direction and leadership to crews while working in tandem with them
• Experience with demolition, excavation, grading, road construction, and underground utilities
• Critical thinking and high function problem solving are a must
• Familiarity with CAT, John Deere, Kobelco, and Komatsu heavy equipment
• Capable of delivering high-yield production with limited supervision in a fast-paced work environment
• Possess or be willing to obtain competent person and cpr/first aid certifications
• Willingness to work 40+ hours per week and weekends on an as needed basis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• A CDL is not required but preferred
• Employment may be contingent upon MVR approval of company insurance provider

• Pilot driving for Heavy Equipment moves on an as needed basis
• Performing a variety of tasks to support field, shop, and yard operations
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Maintaining clean and safe equipment
• Sustaining a clean and safe work environment
• Working outside on projects on an as needed basis

Qualifications
• Capable of delivering high-yield results with at times limited supervision in a fast-paced work environment
• Mechanical repair knowledge is not required, but beneficial
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week and weekends
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in backing-up and towing trailers
• Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Employment may be contingent upon MVR approval of company insurance provider

Truck Driver

Truck Driver

Pihl Excavating, a growing excavation & utilities company, is currently accepting applications and looking to hire Truck Driver.

Qualifications
• Valid Oregon Unrestricted Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
• Current medical card
• Pass a pre-employment drug test
• Clean driving record
• DOT compliant
• Knowledge of Portland area.
• Truck driving experience in Dump Trucks, Truck and Pup, End Dumps, Side Dumps, Water Trucks, and equipment hauling equipment.
• Hazmat certification experience a plus, but not a requirement.
• Must be physically capable of climbing in and out of truck boxes.
• The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player.
• Must be able to work without direct supervision.
• Good communication skills.
• Piloting experience a plus
• Self-Starter and self-motivated

• Moving equipment to and from job sites
• Material delivery to job sites
• Pre-shift and post trip inspections
• Properly log weight of material hauled

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Review and approve timecards for all assigned projects. Review plans and specifications. Review contract documents from clients and obtain signatures. Prepare change orders and obtain signatures. Prepare budgeted costs for change orders. Prepare subcontract agreements and obtain signatures. Prepare monthly billings for all assigned projects. Prepare and update construction schedules. Communicate with Site Superintendents daily. Schedule subcontractors and visit job sites, as necessary. Attend meetings with clients, engineers and jurisdictions. Follow up on punch lists. Obtain final inspections and prepare closeout documents.

You will need
