• Performing a variety of tasks to support field, shop, and yard operations
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Maintaining clean and safe equipment
• Sustaining a clean and safe work environment
• Working outside on projects on an as needed basis

Qualifications
• Capable of delivering high-yield results with at times limited supervision in a fast-paced work environment
• Mechanical repair knowledge is not required, but beneficial
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week and weekends
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in backing-up and towing trailers

Pihl Excavating is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Operating a variety of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to Excavators, Dozers, Loaders, Compactors, Etc.
• Working on a range of projects from mass excavation/grading, commercial site preparation, installation of road systems, land clearing, reservoirs, athletic fields, vineyards and wineries, public work, single and multi-family housing developments, and more.
• Properly following all state and federal agency safety procedures
• Supporting Foremen and Site Superintendents on an as-needed basis

Mechanic

Mechanic

Pihl Excavating is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Mechanic to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform scheduled, unscheduled and preventive maintenance, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose heavy equipment, tractor trailers, tilt deck trailer, forklifts, shop, and farm equipment
• Inspect equipment for indicators of present or potential component failure
• Record and update repair records in a timely manner

How does the application process work?
Once an application is submitted, human resources will send it to the applicable department for review. If the department wants to move forward, you will receive a phone call from human resources to schedule an interview.

How often do employees get paid?
Pihl Excavating employees get paid weekly.

Will I get drug tested?
Yes, employees will need to pass a pre-employment drug test prior to their first day. Employees are then subject to random drug testing throughout employment.

What kind of traveling should I expect?
We aim to stay within 50 miles from our office in Banks to make sure that employees get home at night.

Is there new hire training?
Yes, Pihl Excavating offers training to new hires starting on their first day. New employees participate in onboarding training along with safety training on their first day to ensure a smooth transition. Employees will also get trained on how to use our software programs.
